When the bulb in the base warms up, the colored wax rises and falls through the liquid in a slow, calming motion. The lamp stands 39.5 cm tall and gives soft ambient light for decoration. It uses a 25W R39 bulb and a spare bulb is included in the box.

How to Use

• The lamp has 3 parts: base, bottle and cap
• Plug the base into the outlet and turn on the bulb with the switch
• Place the bottle on the base with the wax end over the bulb
• Fit the cap on the neck of the bottle
• Let it warm up until the wax starts to flow

On first use, do not switch the lamp off until all the wax is flowing. If it is turned off too early, some wax may stay at the top and take much longer to heat on later uses. The first warm-up takes 3-5 hours; later uses are faster. Warm-up time depends on room temperature, and the lamp works well in a room between 22 and 25 C.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it normal for it to take so long to heat up? Yes. All lava lamps take a long time the first time, because the wax has never been heated before. Later uses are faster when the room temperature is suitable.

The liquid looks cloudy. What should I do? Cloudiness comes from a component released by the wax as it heats. It usually clears if the lamp is kept on.

Can I use it for reading? No. The lamp is decorative and gives ambient light only; it is not meant as a main light for reading or other tasks.

What if a bulb burns out? The box includes a spare 25W R39 bulb.
